This week we have two visitors: Dr. Edwin Barnes from JQI and Dr. Tony Lee from Harvard. I discuss with Dr. Lee about his work on spin squeezing and phase transitions in dissipative atomic systems and how we could experimentally engineer dissipations in cold atom. I met Dr. Lee at Caltech in 2012, and discussed physics of 2D quantum gases after a couple of IQIM seminars.
